Here and there

Poor Irish Team, in football who would imagine a hand of striker would deny them their birth in world cup 2010. Thanks to Henry’s hand, now France will fly to South Africa. I think now time has come for football to go digital. FIFA you can continue to brush aside the idea, but you have to follow it anyway, so why not now??

I am happy France are in SA (ohh, they are my fav. team) but i didn’t expect them to go that way!

Football aside, lets talk about my own France Experience. So what i did in France?

  • Ate in McDonald. (One of my French friend nearly choked to death hearing this. hehe :P )
  • Went to Le Marais, a famous gay area. What happened there, a secret lol :D
  • Went to Louvre and literally ran everywhere pushing everyone out of my way. Well in France, if you become courteous, you will end up being nowhere. You are not in England, remember?
  • Got disappointed there’s no Picasso and Van Gogh in Louvre but felt so so happy seeing Da Vinci, Rafael and Michael Angelo :)
  • Did few shopping at Champs-Élysées, Manhattan of Paris :D
  • Become even great fan of Purple. Hahaha i don’t know why but got enough purple clothes, bags and all…. lol :P

Before my pics, one more info. Nowadays, i love watching John on youtube. He’s cute and sexy and above all, he takes questions and give fantastic answers hehehe. Why don’t you see him too. here’s his YouTube Channel. And here’s his one of the videos :)

OK, so you watched cute John giving his opinion. Now see some of my poor pics taken in Paris. :D

Seriously, I didn’t expect to see lots of beggars…hawkers trying to sell you all those stuffs, litters on the street and huge numbers of rule breakers!

Where? Of course in Paris…. but reality is, there they were!! All of them.

Except them, i found Paris, exactly as described in books… Beautiful, Charming, almost like a heaven… and truly a cosmopolitan :)

First time i saw Eiffel, i thought i mistakenly arrived at wrong place. I was tempted to ask passerby, is it the replica of Eiffel. Thank god, i didn’t ask. As i stood below it, then i began to feel: it looks huge from down here.  The morning clouds were playing with wind and it was raining when I reached Eiffel. I didn’t have umbrella and i had to run towards some cover desperately praying: please god, improve the weather.

But problem was: The weather.com had predicted: wet saturday!

But then the strong wind began to blow hard. It was so strong, at one point i felt it might blow me away if i don’t hold something, solid. After an hour, i got tickets (mind it, i was there an hour before the counter opened).

Price: by Elevators up to 3rd floor: €9 and by stairs: €3.5 (One of my wise friend had suggested me, you can take stairs upto 1st floor and take elevators from there. It’s cheaper. You know what choice i made *wink*)

I had expected it to be little climbing but as I began to climb, i was going up and up. Finally i reached 1st floor, breathed some air and searched for counter to go to 3rd floor. I was told: Because of very strong wind, no tickets upto 3rd floor… only upto second floor. Strange! (I had never heard abt tht, if you have let me knw. I will have peace of mind.)

And when I reached 2nd floor, I literally screamed!! OHH THIS IS EIFFEL EXPERIENCE. Paris looked so beautiful, so so beautiful. Thanks to the strong wind which prevented me to go to 3rd floor, clouds were gone and sun was shining and right in front of me was: Magnificent Paris!

If there’s any place i would live except Kathmandu, Paris would be, no wonder 2nd choice. First: it’s booked for some other city!

OK, more on Paris trip later… after all i had dine with Mona Lisa :P . C ya folks :D

No, i don’t have any pictures of The Hague, my camera sucked… and not only mine but my friend’s camera too. Sogot very, very few pictures to show you guys.

But nevertheless, enjoyed the Hague so much. Had wonderful Nepali lunch at Nepali family, my friend’s relative. His child was so cute and so chweet….  In fact, food there made me miss my home :( and then the great shopping began. I got a bag full of clothes and spend precious 3 hours at the malls. Then we headed for the beach.

For the first time in my life, i saw the beach. Yes, first time! Sun had already gone away making room for moon. The temperature was must be around 8 or so and the water was icy cold. But still, i walked on the beach, played with cold. And i wrote Nick’s name on the sand and the wave took it away. My friend told me, if the wave takes away the name, your wishes will come true. Lets see: finger’s crossed :D

But don’t ask me where was the ICJ court or The Royal Palace: I wasn’t so interested in them, i was interested in shopping :P so result, all i could see was malls and malls and yeah: the parliament. It was a wonderful time, and now time is coming for the Paris. And I shouldn’t forget my camera :D

and i know, am talking about weather so much. But for the last time, i would say: GOODBYE AUTUMN!!

P.S. the beach picture is not mine but the below one is :)

Seriously!! He’s not a kid, he talks like a grown up!

Feeling to bored to change channel, I was watching channel V. My nephew was watching tv with me and following conversation occurred:

Nephew: Mama, When are you going to get married?
Me: Hun? Why did you ask me?
Nephew: I see many marriages happening, even sushil’s (his friend) uncle got married few days back. But you don’t seem to be marrying anyone?
Me: Why would I? I am still young (smiles)
Nephew: But you claim, you are old enough. But old people get married. If you are not old, then you do you claim so?
Me: (now running out of words, have to show him who’s the boss)  I will marry but with whom? There’s no one, so am just waiting!
Nephew: But I thought you had girlfriend?
Me: (being suspicious) who?? Why do you think so?
Nephew: No you just seemed to be hooked on phone and mom (his mom) says you must be in relationship, that’s why you talking on the phone
Me: hehehe really?
Nephew: Yeah
Me: Ok, leave about me, let’s talk about you.  Your mom was saying that you did a tantrum about getting married.
Nephew: Everyone’s getting married except you, so I must be get married too.
Me: (Laughing) And you found someone?
Nephew: (Shyly) Yeah, mom has promised me that when I am big enough, I will be marrying a girl from tv
Me: (loss of words)

Apparently, mother and son had their own conversation about marriage earlier after the son complained about getting married. And to prevent further discussion, my sister has used her idea and told him that Kangana Ranaut (as her song was playing on TV and she couldn’t think of other names) will be his bride and she will arrange everything. And my nephew is making all the dreams!

I wonder sometimes, is he still a kid? Or some teenage boy trapped in kid’s body? He’s just 6 and he talks this way? Or the global warming is really affecting our lives?

I hated it, i was so bored and the story was so long….like it will never end… thank god it ended after all but giving me headache to deal with. :( Wish i hadn’t gone…even my mom got so bored… :P

Why do people love to take bath in public place? And that too in their innerwear?

I was so occupied with a training and my head was about to burst. Then miracle happened and one of my friend asked me to go out of bustling of Kathmandu, and I readily agreed. We decided to go to Godawari, a cool hangout place with a botanical garden. There was place called Paanchdhara meaning 5 water taps. And guess what? Men were taking bath in their innerwear that shows all the shapes and sizes. Agreed they wanted to take bath, but couldn’t they use clothes that are a bit more appropriate? They were not in their bathroom for god sake. People were coming, ogling at them but no one giving care at all. One a group finished their business, another jumped in.

Those men seem to be educated and rich (as they had their own bikes), but still……… I was so stunned with public display of tamasha.

And funny thing was: there were clear signs prohibiting people from taking bath.

We are poles apart… hardly anything is similar. I will give u some example:

He loves walking, I love riding.
He loves food cold, I love them hot.
He loves hot tea, i love cold tea.
He is introvert, I am extrovert.
He loves R & B, I love Jazzy
He loves thriller books like that of Sidney Sheldon but i don’t like at all.
He loves action movies or teen flicks, I love drama.
He loves reality shows of MTV or sensational stories of India TV, i feel irritated with mention of them.
He loves formal clothes, i prefer casuals.
My ideal evening would be spending at bar, his at home watching tv together or walking around the street.
Our opinion on hot and trendy are as different as north and south.

But despite all this, our common interest is:
Harry Potter :P
and LOVE :D

Whenever I see relationships breaking so called social morals and values, I feel peace. Not because it gives me sense of Am-Not-Alone, but it reminds me that even in hostile scenario life seeks ways of happiness. I have an aunt. Uncle expired 7 years back but she’s taking good care of her 3 children. Her youngest son is of my age and we are good friends as well. Apparently she is in relationship (calling it affair would be too cheap) with a married man.

I was talking to her son and out of nowhere topic of love popped up. I brainwashed him with my philosophy of  love that it happens with anyone regardless of caste, color, creed or gender (after all I am searching for some back force when I decide to come out). As we were discussing, he admitted that his mother is in love with a married man and he hasn’t got any problem. His mother’s love can’t desert his wife because of various social things but my cousin is ok about that.

My aunt got married at the age of 15, that too without her consent. But still she accepted the decision and moved on. Together they built a happy family of 5. After my uncle expired, her whole world collapsed. Then later because of various reasons, her business collapsed and her family became economically unstable. During such hard period instead of supporting, many of our relative began treating her differently because she was single. There I saw the true ugly faces of so called our own blood. When she was rich, everyone used to admire her and when her economy collapsed no one gave her helping hand. During such hardship, our family was the only family with her.

In her struggle for life, she met a man, who was married but still he gave her support and they are happy to be together. The society doesn’t approve this relationship, but so what? My aunt is happy and as long as she’s happy why should the society bother about it?

My cousin feels if his mom wants to marry him, he will fully support and so will I. She has every right to seek happiness and no social boundaries, values or god know what can’t stop her from seeking it.

People might see it from another perspective like she’s trying to destroy someone’s family or blah blah. But reality is: It’s not about being right or wrong, it’s just about love. And they love each other and that’s what is Important.

If you start judging everything with right and wrong: then love will be doomed and happiness will just vanish. Am I wrong? I bet, not!

Right now, am in love with this song by Emmylou Harris as a  Soundtrack of Brokeback Mountain. Ever since i heard this song i liked it…. but now, as i found someone, the meaning of this song has increased even more…. especially the last two lines….

This is for you Nick. :)

Here’s the lyrics! and video

Go to sleep, may your sweet dreams come true
Just lay back in my arms for one more night
I’ve this crazy old notion that calls me sometimes
Saying this one’s the love of our lives.

Cause I know a love that will never grow old
And I know a love that will never grow old.

When you wake up the world may have changed
But trust in me, I’ll never falter or fail
Just the smile in your eyes, it can light up the night,
And your laughter’s like wind in my sails.

Lean on me, let our hearts beat in time,
Feel strength from the hands that have held you so long.
Who cares where we go on this rutted old road
In a world that may say that we’re wrong.

So, which song speaks your mind now? How about writing a post and letting me know :)
