July 2008

Sometime you just can’t start the morning as you had wished. Today’s morning is one of such worst morning.
Tomorrow i got another exam paper. So i woke up early and started to study. Then after sometime breakfast was ready. My nephew did something wrong and i couldn’t control my rage. So result: I beat him. I was feeling so bad for this but then again i found myself in hot debate with my sister.
Reason- I played with her cell and unknowingly locked it. It was my fault but still i snapped back because she kept on pulling long forgotten issues.
And may be it wasn’t enough, I again was locking horns with mom. Why? She began scolding me for leaving my bed mess. It’s my bed but she was having problem. I don’t understand why.
May be my horoscope is right today. It says stay away from arguments.
Another bad morning i suppose!

My nephew is very mischievous. He is just 5 years old but he argues like a grown-up. He is very stubborn and drives your nuts. Today is his Arts Exam and he was trying to draw some pictures. He drew the picture of Dog and it turned out, don’t know which animal. I think he has got my traits in arts. :P

First one is his version of DOG. Do you guys think it’s dog?

This is his picture of dog

And when i laughed at him. He got angry. I teased him further saying “Meow”, he drew this picture of me as retaliation. According to him, this is my picture with fusion of Cat and Pig. You can see ears of cat, body of pig.

His version of Me *mixed of CAT, PIG and ME*

Sorry about the picture quality. I took them with my 1.3mp camera phone and there was load-shading on when i took this picture. But still just thought to share with you guys.

Well i must agree with critics, if you are planning to watch new Batman flick “The Dark Knight“, you gonna love The Joker. He’s awesome. Heath Ledger has brought the soul and life in the character.

Ledger as joker

Ledger as joker

From childhood, I never liked Batman so much. But i was always fascinated by The Joker. He’s the only second villain to be on list of my all time favorite character. (Next villain is Meowth from cartoon Pokemon :P . So silly of me hehe. ) I used to watch Batman Cartoon series just for him. And when the character was coming back, with Headth Ledger personifying him, I was so excited. I was desperately waiting for this movie. And no, he didn’t disappoint me. The same psychopathic cruelty with zero empathy, Joker takes your breath away every time he’s on the screen.

If there wasn’t him, i would have found very difficult to spend 2.30 hours in cinema. Hats Off to Ledger. He was my favorite actor not just because of Brokeback Mountain. He was brilliant actor. And once again he proved his talent. It’s too bad that he couldn’t watch this reception. I won’t get another post to remember him. **Silent**

Watch out The Dark Knight for Joker’s awesomeness.

From past 4 days, I am trying to make an audio report but no avail. I don’t know why I am feeling such an utter boredom to complete this report. I passed deadline of other 2 reports too but still here I am, as if nothing happened. All the day, I surf the net and till late evening I watch either Sex and the City or Will and Grace (in fact I just started). And who would sleep till late morning?

My heart is restless and my mind is not working. NOT AT ALL!

I read and re-read all the blog post in my bookmarks or reader. I remember what Will said and laugh, I chat over MSN and Gtalk over same topic again and again, I listen to music and face the monitor blankly. And when this reaches heights, I run to my colleagues and chat for hours.

See! now also, am writing this blog neglecting my report. May be I am having this blog addiction syndrome. Some of Ramy’s descriptions of Blog Addiction symptoms match my symptoms. Ohh, Poor me! May be I would be soon writing post, titled “Got Fired“, in near future. Who knows!!

Oh gosh! what’s happening to me??? I have to finish my report but why I am being such an A**?

Is there any medicines for this restlessness? :?

P.S. I need a drink I guess!!

UPDATE: Finally finished writing this audio report. Still left to record and edit and package the program. But still!! :D

His Excellency Vice President,

Congratulations for being elected to the respected and honorable post of Vice President (VP). The whole Nepal is celebrating this joyful occasion. You are VP of, not only of certain community or region, but whole Nepal. But your actions of swearing in Hindi and getting clad in unusual dress have forced me to raise my eyebrows.

Vice president Jha, President Yadav and PM Girija

From left: Vice president Jha, President Yadav and PM Girija

According to your mother party i.e. MRPF, I am Pahade. So your party might brush aside my objection as Pahade stereotype. But after you assume this honorable post, now you are representing me too.
I am firm believer in inclusive democracy and also believe that there shouldn’t be any discrimination to any community or language or religion or on any other forms. I respect Hindi Language. In fact, it is one of the most beautiful languages. But I have objection to it’s use by you during your swearing in process.
You might argue that Hindi is language of Madhesi community. I too was raised in Bara and Parsa though I was born in Pahad. I had impression that they speak either Maithili or Bhojpuri or other local language as their prime language not Hindi, as you or your party claims. According to census and other studies too, only 0.05% population speaks Hindi.  So how this claim could be sustained?
Your use of language and dress left me confusion about my own identity. I am not arguing here to wear you so called national dress “Daura Suruwal” or use Nepali. You are free to choose your dress and language. Just suggesting you to use the dress and language which majority of Nepali, no matter either of Terai or Pahad, equally relates as their own.
But your language and dress left me confused whether my VP is swearing in or another Indian parliamentarian is here. So what’s our uniqueness? What would make us different from others? If you have decided to use your mother tongue, you could have used Maithili or Bhojpuri which your community speaks. And when choosing dress also, you have your own dress. Why didn’t you choose your own? Your such actions could further increase divide rather than act as bridge to unity.
You have to remember again and again, that now you don’t represent certain community. You represent whole Nepal. Please do not make us feel that you are part of some certain group only not our own.
Your future actions would be closely watched and I hope you would create environment where I or someone from Terai, both, could easily accept you as my own Vice President.

Regards,
Dark Knight

I wonder sometimes whether Nepal is the only country where democracy and mob-o-cracy goes hand in hand. We have so called Democratic Government (in fact we just elected our first President) but mob always rule our street. And it seems government has no problem with these mobs.

Student Unions are out in street and have announced banning of public transports for indefinite period. Why? They blame that transport entrepreneurs have failed to implement 45% discount accord for them. Today, I saw students holding brick in hands and burning tires. Heard some vehicles have been vandalized.

Not only them, Commerce Association also going to strike. Why? They demand end to syndicate system in transportation. They also have announced complete closure in various parts of country.

Petrol crisis is deepening. Miles of vehicles are in queue and are frustrated. They might turn violent anytime like they did sometimes back. Even government institutions like Police are also in same print line. (Police in 5 places mutinied and at last government cracked down on them.)

Everyone is feeling, they should turn to protest and vandalism for meeting their demands. And also government doesn’t listen to them unless they become violent.

And at the end everyone reasons, such things strengthen democracy. I wonder how?

May be we all believe in mob-o-cracy = Democracy!

Also: I didn’t like that our Vice-President sworn in Hindi Language. I am a firm believer in inclusive democracy. But just wearing Dhoti and swearing in Hindi Language doesn’t make them pure Madhesi because after all their local dress and local language is not the one they are using now. I wonder why they use them.

P.S. At last some good news: We got holiday!! To celebratehaving our first President. Yippeee

Just finished watching Sex and the City movie. Will comment about movie, Carrie and her co. later. Now mind is filled with images of Samantha’s L.A.’s hot neighbour. His too hot body and the scene where he’s taking bathe’s making my mind restless.
RESTLESS. :-P 8-)

No more words.

His cake: His name is not anil, it's "!" sign at last

My nephew is already 5 years old, but he is not ready to accept the fact. Why? Because he hasn’t cut his birthday cake. So no matter who asks his age, he replies, “Though my birthday has already gone, but I am still 4 because I am yet to cut my cake.”

When it was his birthday, he was fighting with smallpox chickenpox. So there was no question of any party or even cake. I only gave him presents but weakly he told me to bring cake someday.

With passing day, I forgot my promise but he hasn’t. Smallpox Chickenpox was gone but not the junoon to cut the cake. Sensing good chance, I made pact with him.

I would bring cake, if only he behaved well and be a good kid.

After 40 days of his birthday, I finally brought him cake yesterday. A small blackforest cake! Delighted, he thanked me. He cut the cake and said, “I am now finally 5 years old.”

Note: But he broke the pact and continued his child mischief. But still I love him.

I was supposed to give exam of Poetry yesterday. I was all prepared. I read the course, poems and made idea of everything. I slept for merely 6 hours (Just 6 hours!) just to be well-prepared.

And when I reached and sat for exam, I was left aghast seeing exam question-paper. Nearly 50% questions were out of the syllabus. How were we supposed to gather required pass mark just by attempting 50% questions? It was outrageous. Soon there were big shouts and cries everywhere. And our invigilator was finding hard to manage the class. In span of seconds, I saw many students giving back their answer sheets to invigilator and heading out. I was left, not knowing what to do. At last, I too handed over the paper and went out.

The whole examination center was buzzing. My journalist friends were busy updating and broadcasting news to their respective medias. There were unconfirmed reports coming out students from other exam centers have also abandoned the exams and are protesting. We decided to head to our college and there were our other friends out in street, cursing Tribhuwan University. I too joined them.

After few minutes, they planned to go to Balkhu, office of Controller of Examinations to protest. But my friends pulled me to go to fun park.

The whole situation was surreal for me. How could university play with our future like this? Isn’t there system of cross-checking? And who the hell was s/he, who prepared the questions? Has s/he lost mind while making questions? And I had impression that T.U. picks questions from sets. And isn’t there anyone who verifies the question paper? Every year, it happens and why T.U. doesn’t do anything about it?

Now may be this paper’s exam would be held later but what about my labor? My time?

Fuck this T.U.

Today turn out to be full of unexpected events-

  • Exam got cancelled because almost 50 percent question were out of course. Don’t know what will happen to this exam.
  • Went to street to protest. (Update: Not only us, but students across the country did same :P )
  • Went to Fun Park and played games like Columbus Ride and others. Had so much fun.
  • Again walked lot to search room but still no luck.

Now too tired to do anything.
